Since as long as we can remember, our family photo albums have held our stories. With every phase that your family goes through together, the little changes and the big changes, the quickly passing baby phase, and the tender moments with toddlers. Life flies by, from newborn to toddler to teenager and on. These intimate moments that you share as a family deserved to be celebrated in photographs.

Sarah’s Philosophy

Photographs aren’t perfect, let’s have fun and be ourselves. I’m a playful story teller, and I believe in authenticity. Several times a year since I was young I would pour over my Mom’s carefully laid out photo albums in those metal ring binders with the crinkly plastic pages.. I was always lookinh to know a little bit more about my loved ones and their stories, to get a little bit closer to the things that couldn’t be passed down with words.

We want to soak up more of the people we love so dearly, and be able to revisit our time with them for lifetimes. My approach is simple, take the people you love and gather them in a place that’s special to you. What comes next is magic. I capture joyful, unsuspecting, funny, messy and deeply beautiful moments of your family in this season of life. I encourage my clients to be as real as they are comfortable and I welcome everyone as they are. My photography sessions are a relaxed and loving space.

    Our most sought-after family photo package! Enjoy a 30 minute convenient and picturesque family session, in a fun and energetic style. Filled with a variety of stunning photos for your selection.

  • Classic Outdoor or Home Session

    Perfect for those seeking a more personalized family portrait experience, a 1 hour session allows extra time for more photos or for larger families. Time for outfit changes, more relaxed and candid moments. Optimal timing during sunrise or sunset for the best lighting.

  • Newborn Home Session

    This 1 hour session captures the tender moments as parents welcome their little ones into their lives. We focus on the intimate connection between parents and baby, ensuring every image reflects the profound bond shared. This session takes place in the comfort of your home, with babies photographed cradled in their parents' arms.

FAQ

  • Schedule any time of the year you’d like Spring-Fall! In Summer and Fall sessions are primarily available on weekdays, it’s rare that I have a weekend date available. I prefer to photograph an hour or two before sunset for the prettiest light. If these times don’t work for your schedule, we can adjust our start time to afternoon or sunrise. Summer is the busiest time of year and I have limited availability and it’s the best time for warm weather and pretty sunsets. For Summer dates I recommend reaching out more in advance. Fall is great if you want a current photo for the holiday card, or like the colors. Winter sessions are less common but are available and can be fun with kids above walking age. For newborn sessions, I recommend indoor in the winter. If your photos are for a holiday deadline, please make sure to book a date that is 6 weeks prior to the holiday ordering deadline.

  • I’m based outside Portland, Maine, and no where is too far to travel.

  • I love the outdoor; beaches, tall grass fields. I’m a big fan of wild natural beauty, and enjoy less trafficked locations. I also love photographing at-home, and in other unconventional locations like the city. I often find myself making beautiful images in the outdoors at client’s vacation homes or outdoor spots they like to spend time as a family. I have a trove of suggested locations, but I also love to hear new ideas from you!

    Any location within 1 hour of Portland is included in the session. I’m more than happy to travel to meet your family within New England for an added fee.

    If you have a home that you love, with ample natural light, indoor sessions can be very special. They are especially recommended for newborns and babies.

  • Your full gallery will be delivered 3-6 weeks after the session. Certain times of year, it may take longer. Especially during pre-holiday rushes in Fall. Make sure to schedule at least 6-8 weeks before any holiday order deadline.

  • The most popular package is “The Family” one-hour session. It allows time to be relaxed and really captures your family’s love, relationships and lifestyle.

    For clients who have busy schedules, and are looking for a quick session to have a handful of lovely keepsake photographs or images for the holiday card, “The Essentials” session is a great fit. Some of my families also do this package so that they can afford more frequent photo sessions, scheduling 2-3 a year when they have quickly growing kids.

    Mini Sessions are best for budget-conscious clients who are happy to skip the customization of being able to select a date, time of year, and location.
