SM.P & co

A collective of photographers documenting weddings, love and noteable life events.

The SM.P Collective

One of the most rewarding parts of life is community and collaboration. My journey as an artist began in rooms full of other creatives, observing each other’s processes, feeding off the creative energy, collaborating, and offering critique. As I built SM.P, I simultaneously and intuitively built a community of artists and photographers around me. The amazing artists I’ve grown to call friends and work alongside have been one of the most nurturing and rewarding parts of the SM.P journey. At some point along the way I realized that a large part of the SM.P creative process was solo - and I knew I wanted more collaboration and community. An intention began to loosely form in my heart. In 2017 SM.P & co was born, a collective of incredibly talented and inspiring photographers & videographers whom I manage and collaborate with. It’s been one of those unexpectedly kismet experiences and I’m so honored to have this opportunity to match my wonderful clients with the best of photographers.

We’re a small team of artful wedding photographers and videographers…

working with couples across the country. We capture the natural, honest moments in a refined and timeless photographic style. Our philosophy is simple. We’re not fitting your story into a box, we’re witnessing it and gently shaping it as it authentically unfolds. It’s a careful weaving together of your authentic identity and our vision—each client’s experience is individual and personal.

Meet Kelcie

Senior Associate Photographer

From her high school darkroom days, to full time wedding and family photography, Kelsie leaned into her passion of capturing couples’ stories as they unfold. As a student of the Art Institute of Boston and Maine Photographic Workshops, art has always been an outlet for Kelsie.

In addition, her Culinary Arts and Hospitality degree and extensive experience in catering and event management, gives her an advantageous eye for the details. Enjoying colors, fabrics, and florals, she is able to capture both the celebratory love shared at a wedding as well as the design and beauty surrounding the couple and their guests.

What began as photographing her friend’s babies, quickly became a love of photographing her own. As Kelsie’s world evolved she was seeing how quickly life changed, which encouraged her to begin photographing more of her own to preserve life’s moments.

It’s Jo

Principal Videographer

Jo is a Puerto Rican videographer who landed in a small Maine fishing village with her husband and their now daughter.  Jo can often be found working on projects to restore their historic clapboard home by the ocean, tending her ever-growing garden, or pausing to capture the world through her own unique and thoughtful lens . She moonlights as an amateur gymnast, is active in the fine-art non-profit sector, and hosts a community radio show with her husband on the local public radio station. An eclectic an incredibly talented artist, and an experience commercial videographer of fifteen year, the SM.P team is lucky to have her. Jo is much admired for the way she honors her subjects through her creations, and truly invests in witnessing them.

Making films that tell a story is Jo’s mission. She uses her own visual language and expertise to create truly beautiful and remarkable memories for our client’s.

About Dave

Senior Associate Photographer

Dave is a photographer’s photographer. Most people know he’s an incredibly talented image maker, but only another photographer can truly appreciate the depth of his craft and skill. Born and raised in Philly, Dave’s passion for being outside in nature brought him to live with his wife and two children in Maine. Having been a photographer for twenty years, he learned with film and has an incredibly timeless style of glowy beautiful images. He appreciates quality over quantity, and values printing photographs.

An avid kayaker in Summer, Dave spends Winter snowboarding with his kids on the local ski hill. He can be found all over New England on assignment for Downeast Magazine, and photographs a limited number of weddings per year.

Philosophy

Our clients are our priority. We keep ego aside and do whatever it takes to capture what they’ve created and who they are. We are a part of each client’s wedding day to witness and gently shape their story as it authentically unfolds—never to fit their story into a box.

Our photography style captures joy and the full range of emotion. It’s comprehensive, thoughtful, and artistic. From beloved candids, to must-have group photos, to the pure energy of the day, clients trust that we are capturing it all. They know that our team are their biggest advocates. We prioritize and value what they prioritize and value, while bringing our own sense of expertise and vision. It’s a careful weaving of the two, and each client’s experience is individually crafted and personal.

We are dedicated to helping you remain present throughout your celebration, and to remember it more fully through photographs. It’s essential to us that, through your images, you feel transported back to the emotions of your wedding day.
